After he moved to Los Angeles (and then New York), we didn't chat as much, but when he reached out a few months ago wanting me to photograph his wedding, I was ecstatic...

When Stephanie & Mike told me about their wedding venue, I was pretty ecstatic to finally get a chance to photograph at Orfila Winery - a small vineyard & gorgeous wedding venue out in Escondido. I immediately bonded with Stephanie & Mike at their engagement session in Orange County because of their willingness to do whatever in order to get an awesome photo, so I couldn't wait to capture their wedding day.
With some intense heat, a packed day, and a wild wedding party, this wedding kept me on my toes from start to finish.

While 2015 was by far my most successful year to date, it was also the most challenging. I love weddings because they allow me to create and document the day exactly as I see them, but as a photographer that's constantly challenged by my peers and who gets bored easily, I find that if I'm not constantly pushing myself and trying new techniques and styles out, I lose the burning flame I have. This year has been a journey of self-growth, solidifying my style, finding out what works, what doesn't work, and ultimately being content with myself.
I would love to type up paragraphs about how amazing and inspirational 2015 was, but let's face it, you clicked the link to view my images -- and a picture is worth 1,000 words anyway, right? I hope you enjoy my year in review.

Juli & Harold took the best ceremonies & traditions from multiple cultures and ceremonies to create a unique backyard wedding a wedding photographer could only dream of. The amazing wedding took place at Frank Sinatra's old mansion in Woodland Hills, which had everything from Corona vending machines to secret passage ways. I met Tracy & Paul earlier this year and instantly knew that they were my kind of couple. They have absolutely no problem showing emotion, which made photographing them at their wedding *that* much easier. These guys have an awesome alternative style, devoted love, and one heck of an eclectic group of friends, which made for an extremely hilarious (and emotional) ceremony.

So much awesome energy, so many extraordinary people, so much emotion. Courtney & Craig's wedding day was a non-stop blast as event after event unfolded. The amazing vintage-themed wedding at Los Willows Wedding Estate in Fallbrook had Courtney and Craig's closest friends and family celebrating their energetic wedding. You know those incredibly small weddings with an insane amount of emotion, energy, and beauty? This was one of them. Although Tais & Alex were already legally married a few months prior, they really wanted to have a small reception with their family and friends to celebrate (and of course some epic portraits in La Jolla too!). After our portrait session, we made our way to the Estancia Hotel where everyone danced their butt off and celebrated this awesome couple's marriage like there was no tomorrow. After photographing Lien & Jon's epic two day engagement session (which can be found here), I knew their wedding would be just as fun. Lien is extremely creative and thrifty, so she took the time to not only hand-make every single decoration, but she also designed her own wedding dress too! This stylish and fun DIY wedding took place at a lovely mountain center in Altadena, CA. With deer running around the grounds, a hot sun above our heads, and a wild wedding party, this wedding was a blast to attend and photograph. Check out a few images from throughout the day.

I've known Kim & Brian for almost five years -- so of course I was not only incredibly happy for them when they got engaged, but I was thrilled to be their wedding photographer. The gorgeous church was located deep in downtown Detroit, so the bridal party decided to take their own personal trolley to get around quicker. This wedding was incredibly refreshing -- with the bridal prep, ceremony, and reception locations all being in different cities, there were plenty of stops in between to get some amazing portraits in different iconic locations. I photographed Natasha & Steve's engagement session (which can be seen here) a couple of month's ago and instantaneously fell in love with them. Natasha has an awesome style and loves photography, while Steve's from Ohio, and because I love photography & am from the Midwest as well, we naturally got along great. I couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous venue, as anything and everything was photogenic at all times of day. To top it off, the couple gave me full creative freedom to do what I want, so I was practically in heaven. I met Mariangela and Robbie through a mutual friend earlier this year and knew they would be a blast to photograph due to their amazing chemistry. After these two got warmed up to being in front of the camera, they rocked every portrait -- and it sure does show. A little back-story about this awesome couple: Mariangela is from Italy, so she of course has a big, close family. A few minutes spent talking with her and it's easy to realize how sweet and caring she really is. Robbie, although he appears as your typical Californian surfer, is an extremely driven entrepreneur that has created and owned all sorts of companies since his early 20s -- including a wedding photography studio. Their wedding, although sporting around 60 guests, was intimate in its own way due to the closeness of each and every guest, family member, and friend. First off, what a fantastic wedding! After photographing Nicole & Tales' lovely engagement session in May (that can be viewed here), I knew their wedding would be a blast. We started off the day at the South Mesa Lodge Hotel and made our way to the Marine Memorial Golf Course in Camp Pendleton, where the ceremony and reception were held. And the best part? The lush, green golf course made everything photogenic! Here is a small preview of their sunny summer wedding.
