You know those incredibly small weddings with an insane amount of emotion, energy, and beauty? This was one of them. Although Tais & Alex were already legally married a few months prior, they really wanted to have a small reception with their family and friends to celebrate (and of course some epic portraits in La Jolla too!). After our portrait session, we made our way to the Estancia Hotel where everyone danced their butt off and celebrated this awesome couple's marriage like there was no tomorrow. Can you believe it's almost 2015? The start of the year officially marks my six years as a photographer. A random summary of my year includes photographing over 50 weddings, moving three times, fully refining my photographic style, meeting awesome new friends and clients, and jumping ship from Canon to Nikon. I've known Kim & Brian for almost five years -- so of course I was not only incredibly happy for them when they got engaged, but I was thrilled to be their wedding photographer. The gorgeous church was located deep in downtown Detroit, so the bridal party decided to take their own personal trolley to get around quicker. This wedding was incredibly refreshing -- with the bridal prep, ceremony, and reception locations all being in different cities, there were plenty of stops in between to get some amazing portraits in different iconic locations.
