While 2015 was by far my most successful year to date, it was also the most challenging. I love weddings because they allow me to create and document the day exactly as I see them, but as a photographer that's constantly challenged by my peers and who gets bored easily, I find that if I'm not constantly pushing myself and trying new techniques and styles out, I lose the burning flame I have. This year has been a journey of self-growth, solidifying my style, finding out what works, what doesn't work, and ultimately being content with myself.
I would love to type up paragraphs about how amazing and inspirational 2015 was, but let's face it, you clicked the link to view my images -- and a picture is worth 1,000 words anyway, right? I hope you enjoy my year in review.

I met Tracy & Paul earlier this year and immediately knew this couple would rock. It's an amazing occurrence when people come into your life and give you their complete trust to photograph them in such a way that will not only bring out their personalities, but also make them look their best while effortlessly having fun in front of the camera. We started off near Balboa Park and headed to Sunset Cliffs for sunset -- these two contrasting locations made for a great session. Look out for their wedding later this year.

Meet Courtney & Craig: an awesome couple that loves nature almost as much as they love their energetic pup, Archie. Craig is from England and is a soccer coach and Courtney is from California and is a professional dancer. These two (hmm, three if you count Archie) were naturals in front of the camera and really made it hard for me to choose my favorite images for this blog post. How adorable is this couple together!? I met Liseth last year when I switched banks and was incredibly happy to have such a personable bank-teller. When I found out she got engaged, I just knew I had to photograph her engagement with her awesome fiancé Joel! We went to one of their favorite locations, Seaport Village, and had an awesome time shooting right up until sunset. Here are a few photos from the session.

As a photographer, nothing feels more satisfying than when you connect with your clients. Starting this session off, I instantly clicked with Natasha & Steve and it made everything so-so-so easy. Natasha is from Australia and recently moved out to sunny California to be with Steve, who's originally from Ohio. Natasha & Steve are actually already married, but are having their official marriage ceremony & reception later this year (keep a look out for it, it's going to be awesome). I met Nicole & Tales a few months back when booking their wedding -- Tales is finally done serving our country, so they figured it would be the perfect time to have their wedding & engagement photos done. We went to Downtown Carlsbad and finished off at the lovely Carlsbad Beach off of Tamarack.

First off, let me just say that Lien & Jon were absolutely fantastic to work with. After they got used to my style and posing system, they were naturals in front of the camera. The session started off at San Clemente Beach, but we decided to drive inland and found a fantastic orange grove field. We then started at Solana Beach for round two the following weekend. I met Jessica & Scott several months back when booking their wedding, so this was the first time I actually had the chance to learn more about their awesome lives and photograph how madly in love they are. We decided on Old Poway Park because they wanted a nice variation of lush trees and awesome railroad tracks/buildings that are scattered throughout the park. After a few minutes of warming up, I really began to see how perfectly matched these two are -- the photos speak for themselves!

Jenn & Ben.. What can I say about this couple!? They were frickin' awesome in front of the camera. And I'm only saying this because they haven't had professional photos taken since high school! They met five years ago at Ben's fire station and hit it off from day one. They both love the beach, but didn't want to have a cliche beach engagement session, so we decided that Elfin Forest was the best of both worlds.
