I know this sounds cliche, but Abbie & Evan's wedding day was a rollercoaster of emotions starting from the very beginning of the day. As a photographer that shoots very photojournalistic, this wedding was a dream to document. So much laughter. So many tears shed. So many different unique traditions.
I met Abbie & Evan earlier this year when photographing their intimate engagement session at their Los Angeles apartment, which you can view here. When I was photographing them, I quickly noticed how unique they were, how easy they were to work with, and how many fun ideas they had thought up for their session & their wedding day.
For photographers: I was focused more on creating clean portraits, photojournalism, and implementing a few new (and old) techniques including off-camera flash & Sam Hurd's Ring of Fire. I also switched my focal lengths up from my typical 35/58 combo to a 35/85 combo - the extra length from the 85mm really helped me grab some crucial moments during the ceremony and the increased compression gave a lot of the images a 3D look, which I really love, especially with the few panoramas I stitched together.
Big shout to my good friend Joshua Mitchel for second shooting that day!
Anyway, check out this short preview of their big wedding day - enjoy!
