With wedding season in full swing, I’ll be the first to admit I’ve been seriously slacking on my blogs lately. BUT being that this is one of the more fun San Diego engagement sessions I've had in a while - I just had to get Katherine & Pietro on the blog! :)
I previously knew these two awesome people from the vegetarian community over here in San Diego. Pietro even owns an amazing authentic Italian restaurant by the name of Civico 1845 that has an entire vegetarian menu! Super rad. With that being said - when we finally set a date for their engagement session, I was SO stoked because it was something we had been talking about the last year or so. Katherine really wanted some images showing how gorgeous the flowers were during the Super Bloom, but once we drove over an hour to Hemet, we realized there were barely any flowers to be found! Luckily, it had rained the day prior and all the vegetation around the location was incredibly lush and vibrant - so even though there weren’t flowers, we ended up getting epic, insanely green hill tops instead.
After photographing for an hour or so and missing sunset due to the massive mountain on the West side, I packed up my gear and started driving away. I made it about 1,000 feet down the road and found the PERFECT hillside that still had the last bit of golden light available. I quickly pulled over, let them know where I was, and we wrapped up the shoot by getting some rad portraits with the last 5 minutes of light. THAT SUNSET THOUGH!
If you have some extra time and want to check out a rad San Francisco engagement session I did a while back, it definitely has some similar vibes.
For photographers - I used a Nikon D850, 35mm & 58mm on the images posted.
Here’s a small selection of my favorite images from their ridiculously beautiful engagement session below.
Enjoy!
