Life has been insanely busy for me lately and it has been pretty tough for me to blog consistently - which explains the double blog post today with both Rachel & Karl's San Diego engagement session, and now, their epic Cinco De Mayo wedding!
I started the day off hanging with Rachel and her family/friends over at Humphrey's By The Bay. I shot some candids & details while the girls got ready and had some fun experimenting with a new piece of glass I just picked up. Once the girls were finished, we brought Rachel outside where Karl was waiting for their first look - such a rad reveal! After, we drove down to Green Acre Campus Pointe in La Jolla (check out these La Jolla wedding photos from another wedding I photographed back in 2016).
We photographed some family portraits, tons of portraits of Rachel & Karl, and then their rustic outdoor ceremony. After their ceremony, I photographed more family portraits and the final details at their outdoor reception (also, two words - holy florals). Once the sun set, we photographed some more dancing followed by Rachel & Karl completely destroying their piñata cake with some Babe Ruth baseball bat swings. After more dancing, it was time for my customary tequila shot send-off - a tradition that has quickly become one of my favorites since starting it in 2016.
For photographers: I used a 24-70mm, 35mm, 45mm, 58mm, and 70-200mm on a Nikon D5 & Nikon D850. I also used Flashpoint R2 flashes for the reception.
Enjoy!
